About Me
You can call me Chris. I use he/him pronouns.
I am an interdisciplinary Earth system scientist interested in the economic and social impacts of climate change. I use a wide range of tools, from simple and complex climate models to econometric regression techniques, to understand the relationship between extreme climate events and outcomes such as economic growth and human health. My work aims to inform policy discussions over climate mitigation, adaptation, and litigation, as well as climate justice topics such as loss and damage and decisionmaking tools such as the social cost of carbon.
I am an assistant professor at the O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University. Our new research group, the IU Climate & Society Lab, is now open! Reach out if you are a prospective PhD student or postdoc, or just want to discuss collaborations!
I was previously a postdoc at Stanford University, working with Noah Diffenbaugh and Marshall Burke. In 2023, I received my PhD from Dartmouth College, working with the Climate Modeling and Impacts Group.
